My name is Somdas Kashyap but everybody calls me Yogi Ji. I was born in 1976 in the village of Shamli Shamla, in northern Uttar Pradesh in India. I finished school at the age of 17 and I attended some courses for the period of years, like electricity or electronics. But I had no interest in that working area, so at the age of 21 I started visiting Anandapur ashram to read books, listen to lectures, speak with Babas and allways learning differents thing. I was going and coming to the ashram for some time, when in 1998 I decided to go and meet Guru Ji in Madhya Pradesh. I was very impressed to meet Guru Ji, so I decided to stay in ashram.
In ashram I started with a lot of meditation and learning about Hindu traditions, which inspired me to do more. So I started with yoga and learning about Naturopathy and massage. I practised yoga with Babas and I gave them a lot of massages.
Already after one year, Guru Ji took me with him to visit ashrams (kutia) around India. Since I also learned to play tabla, harmonium and I was singing 'Bhajan Kirtan' from my heart, Guru Ji liked me very much and He asked me to sing and play in front of thousands of people. I spent 7 years in ashram learning many things.
In 2005 I left the ashram and went directly to the holy town of Pushkar in the state of Rajasthan, where I started with yoga classes. Soon after I started also massages and reflexology in my own shop. In many years of experience I became a professional master of yoga and a traditional indian massage therapist.
